NRA Past President Marion P. Hammer recognized Ms. Roxanne Byczkowski as a recipient of the National Rifle Association's 2005 Marion P. Hammer Woman of Distinction Award during the 2005 NRA Annual Meetings.
Mrs. Roxanne Byczkowski is one of four recipients of the National Rifle Association's prestigious 2005 Marion P. Hammer Woman of Distinction Award.

Byczkowski has demonstrated outstanding performance in competitive shooting, promotion of the shooting sports, and volunteerism. She is an NRA Certified Firearm Instructor in five disciplines -- home firearm safety, pistol, personal protection, rifle and shotgun; a Chief Range Safety Officer; a Women on Target® instructional shooting clinic coordinator; and Refuse To Be A Victim® certified instructor. She volunteers countless hours to her positions within the Monumental Rifle and Pistol Club, and doing so may find her teaching a new shooter on the firing line or speaking at a legislative hearing.

Sue King, NRA Director and Chairman of NRA's Women's Policies Committee said, "Roxanne's community is richer because her contributions to the shooting sports as a participant, instructor and range officer have so positively touched thousands of lives. She typifies all that is good about Second Amendment activism and community service."

Named for the first woman president of the National Rifle Association, the Marion P. Hammer Woman of Distinction Award was created in 2004 to recognize the contributions of women who have demonstrated dedication to the promotion of the Second Amendment, have made outstanding achievements in educational contributions while advancing the purposes and goals of the NRA and, through legislative and legal contributions, have significantly impacted the preservation of the shooting sports at the local, state and regional national levels.
